![]() ![]() The second method is to just attack the townspeople and try to break through the gate later. This method is the easiest, but you will still have to clear the entire town of enemies, you just won't have to deal with the trap or Odea (she dies in a special sequence). Intimidate him into giving you safe passage. First (and easiest) you can intimidate Odea into taking you to Illium. There are several ways to take down the gate. I want to say a few things about that trap before I go on here, as it affects how you are going to deal with the next problem area. Give him a potion for some more experience and then hand him the periapt for even more experience! He dies a quiet death, but not before revealing some information about the trap at the gates of Andora. Return to Yurst for a huge experience reward. Agree to help him and kill the three fomorian giants that are to the east. Go north at the first junction to find a wounded man, Captain Yurst, who is being attacked by some giants. Kill the frost spiders and loot their bodies for some silk. Go to the south and then east from the airship. He will reveal himself as a greater werewolf and you will get experience points for invoking it. ![]() Take a look at the cave a few times to get the guy to attack you. Talk to him and do whatever shopping you want to do. Kill the yeti guards and open the chest to find a periapt. You'll soon come across some wagons on the right. Grab them (you only need one set of planks) and proceed to the north. Go north and you will find some planks of wood on the ground. Bring the shells to Oswald so that he can start production on your armour. It is just a bit to the north of the crashed airship. The first goal is to destroy the boring beetle nest. At this point in time a lot of werewolves will start wandering the map - kill them all on sight. At some point in your wanderings a follower of Beodaewn will accost you, run off and come back as a werewolf. The fomorian giants are strong, but have low defence, the frost spiders have a nasty poison (use anti-poison spells and potions to counteract it), the werewolves have nasty melee attacks, and the Aurilites have strength of numbers. Walk slowly and disarm them all! The area is inhabited by a variety of monsters. ![]() All it takes is a bit of money and a few days of crafting time. Just a note before you go - Oswald can make cold resistance items out of yeti and winter wolf pelts, and heavy armour out of boring beetle shells. Collect them and put them onto the table. The first two items that you can find are a diamond and the thrym extract. ![]() Ask him what needs to be done and get ready to start collecting all the stuff! Kill the boring beetles (they steal stuff from the ship and your party - kill them and destroy their lair to get it all back) and wake Oswald up. Good thing there is a lot of interesting places to explore while you are grounded! On the plus side here, the environments start looking really cool the difficulty steps up a notch and you get to find out more of the overall plot!Īll I can say here is - "Good thing that the crash site was marked on the map before you crashed here!" There are a couple of side quests that can be done in this chapter, but they are small and will be covered in the main text. You are sent out to find the Neverwinter reinforcements, but get side tracked while on the way - Oswald's airship gets struck down and you have to spend time trying to repair the blasted thing. The second chapter of the game leads you further into Icewind Dale. ![]()
